Here are some of the ideas I have done in the past.

Take a brown grocery bag or box and cut a hole for the head and arms. Paint red and white stripes and add a "popcorn" sign. Then take a hat and hot glue real popcorn on it. My son received many compliments on this one.

One year I bought green glitter felt material and cut out Christmas tree shapes with openings for their head and arms. I added garland, bulbs, and battery operated lights. They wore hats with stars on the top. They were very easy to spot that year!

I took a box and added a curve of poster paper to the top to resemble a US postal box. I painted it blue and wrote on the sides. My daughter then wore a white pillowcase with a stick attached on the inside so that she looked like a letter. I wrote an address on it and then drew a stamp.

I have five kids now and no one wants to do coordinating outfits anymore!
