My dd is 19 moths old and only has a vocab of about 15 words. She is not putting 2 words together either. I have the book "what to expect the toddler years" in it it says she should be able to say 6 words at 19 months. It also did say to pay attention to their level of understanding. can your child follow a command. And it also said that if your child was an early walker, climber, etc then speech is usually a little later due to putting all of their efforts into that. So I am not worried as of yet, she understands EVERYTHING and is trying to talk more and more. I think it will come, each child is different, they talk at different times just like they walk at different times. Good Luck...Carrie
