Well, the Russians are predicting a mini ice age this century due to low solar activity. They said global warming occured because of the increased solar activity which has already peaked. We'll see a gradual lowering of temperatures in about 7 or 8 years and eventually have another mini ice age. Sometime between 2035 and 2045. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Solar activity explains MUCH of the planets warming and cooling that occured over the last few million years.
Blaming the sun makes sense from a scientific point of view when you look at the cooling and warming that has occured over millions and millions of years-but it doesn't excuse us from being more responsible for our actions.
The last major ice age ended when the planet warmed-and it didn't warm due to human activities.
