I don't know if this applies to you and since I'm not a health care professional please know that this is only a Mom to Mom response; OK? My twins (now 16year olds) developed strong feet/ vinegar/ sweaty like smells any time they got a minor infection like an ear infection or even a cold. It got so bad that even before they started the ear pulling or constant crying I "knew" based on the smell. They also sweated a lot with fevers.
As soon as I read your post I wanted to respond because I remembered the smell as soon as you described it. IMO you should at least call your Dr. or a local hospitals Nurse line and run it by them; I have a 1 month old and I just believe that anything that causes me concern needs to be looked in to; they are just so defenseless, you know.
