THis would affect what I would recommend as well. If it is a situation with an older toddler/preschool and younger toddler/infant, I would recommend a sit n stand. For me anyway, it worked and moved just like a single stroller, wasn't as long and gave the older child some freedom but also the ability to buckle them in for safety (or in our case, timeouts) when necessary.

We also have a double jogger which is wonderful for walks or outdoor outings. We have used it in malls too, but it only works for us when there are two adults as it doesn't fit at all into the smaller stores. And you can get inserts for babies to secure them as well.

I found the regular tandems just so big to push but then, I borrowed an older one for awhile. There are newer ones that are more compact I think.
