I feel like I never read much other than "Cat in the Hat" and "Pinkalicous" and it's soul-searching sequel "Purpilicous"!
But Here's what My Book Club has read lately (with a Mini-Suzy-Synopsis). Just a disclaimer this is a church book club so the books sort of pass a "clean" test (not a lot of swearing, smut, or violence)
1. PoisonWood Bible - I couldn't read this one cuz I could tell after the first 7 pages they lost a child and I have a hard time with that kind of stuff.
2. Molokai - About a young Hawain Girl and the Leper Colonies - I know it sounds awful but it was a Great book I loved it.
3. The Thirteenth Tale - A mystery kind of. It was a really good book but I'm not sure I liked it (if that makes sense).
4. The Traveler's Gift - Sort of Self-Help Fiction. The main charactar meets Ann Frank, Abe Lincoln and other important historical figures and each one gives him a gift and a theme.
I also read the "Memory Keepers Daughter" another great book but not a good book for me (the heart defect stuff was a little hard for me to read). I also love Mitch Albums books. If you want "fluff" reading I liked "The Devil Wears Prada" and the "Nanny Diaries".
I guess after reading this thread I should try "Pillars of the Earth", and "The Time Travelers Wife" I have those as well as about 6 others ("Love in the Time of Cholera", "Secret Life of Bees", "Kite Runner," "Three Cups of Tea" and "The Last Lecture") in a stack on my night-stand. I keep buying all these smart, well-recommended books.... I guess I actually need to read them
