I have looked into doing the foster care reviews too. I think that could be a PART of why your getting pushed off. It could be a "she understands the system and how much we have to do" mentality. It could ALSO be that many social workers feel that having foster parents that are also foster care review volunteers is a conflict of interest that is ignored. I don't feel that way, but I know there are social workers that do. If I were you I would write a letter, send it to the social worker and CC her supervisor. Explain how long you've been waiting. I would honestly state in the letter that as a volunteer for the department you are aware how busy they are, but also of the need for more foster homes etc...I would push the issue by letter or e-mail. Getting them on the phone seems almost impossible. (Especially I am finding at THAT office)
