My husband and I have completed classes, inspections, background checks, and a home study in April, May and June. We have waited patiently then 2 weeks ago our worker told us her supervisor had a few questions, but not to worry as she had the answers she needed about 1982 when my 1st husband and I divorced. So no word until last Wed. After many calls to her voice mail and several e-mails to worker. She did not call but sent me an e-mail that her supervisor would be contacting me about the SA of my youngest son. My son was SA by my ex-husbands father that is what lead to our divorce as he said "Shut up and Forget it" and that we could just keep our kids from his father. I could not do this as I felt I owed my then 4yr old son better! I took my children from SC to Texas to my Mother's and her family. My ex went and got tempory custody and came to Texas and DSS in Texas came to get my kids. After being told why I left a hearing was set in Texas. The Judge decided that SC would have to hear our case so we agreed to both our Mothers flying our kids back to SC to be turned over to DSS out here until an investcation could be done on the SA. Me nor my ex where in anyway charged with abuse or negect. I have left several more e-mails and voice messages for both worker and her supervisor. What else can I do? We want to be foster parents because we cared for our grandson until his death in 2005 as he opened our eyes to the needs of children, caring for him taught us unconditional love.
