Since your little one only needs protection for some pee accidents (not poo), I would recommend sticking with cloth panties. There are some waterproof types for when a puddle isn't acceptable (e.g., going out).

I found that once my girls had developed sphincter control, they did way better in panties. I just gave away about 100 diapers that I thought I'd need, but didn't because I just decided to brave it, even overnight (with a waterproof flannel pad over the sheet). Even away from home, the girls did way better when they didn't have a diaper on.

I did use disposable pull-ups while the girls were getting used to the potty but weren't ready to go all day without a diaper. They are quite convenient, but my girls never thought of them as different from a diaper. Maybe your daughter will, though, if you pitch it the right way.
