Stormster -- in a very small percentage of children, the MMR vaccine can trigger autism and/or neurological damage. There is even a federal program that provides payments to the families of children who are disabled because of a reaction to vaccines. While the risk is low for the general population, some feel that children with developmental delays are at higher risk and that waiting until the brain is more fully developed decreases the risk.
