This is the way it is here too but I ALWAYS request that the caseworker input the data into the computer and have the payment go through DCFS because it leaves a paper trail on the monthly stub we get with the stipend. We receive $400 a month per foster child here. That is roughly $13 per day. So when we do respite for others we get (expect) $13 per day per child.

And when we do respite for a baby we expect formula because the foster family receives WIC and a month's supply of the formula so they should bring enough for the days in my care. I expect some of their toys to be packed, pacifiers, infant tylenol, etc. I do buy diapers and jar baby food as that is what they would have to do out of their stipend for those days. However, any diapers and jar food leftover stay here and I use them for the next infant placement.

I'm glad to hear that you will receive good payment. Now you know to have it all set up in advance next time. You cw dropped the ball for not having that all ironed out and for not keeping you informed of how respite works.
