Adopt and Foster Care
Adoption through the state and foster care in my state are kept separate. When we were first looking to adopt, we were going to go through foster/adopt, but then we realized we had to pick one or the other. It was too confusing, and upsetting to try and figure out, so we went private...next time around though, we will use the state (financially, we can't do a private adoption again) so I was just looking for feedback from those in states that might also keep these separate (I'm in MA) I do genuinely want to foster, but would also like to be considered to adopt. It's hard to chose...very confusing. Any advice would be great! Thanks!

10/07 - We start home study visits, requirements, and paperwork!
12/07 - Approved to adopt.
01/28/08 - Tyler is in our arms! He is less that 48 hours old!
11/15/08 - FINALIZE in St. Louis on National Adoption Day!
06/22/09 - Maybe we should do this again? 
06/25/09 - Start the official paperwork to update our home study and make Tyler a big brother. 
07/13/09 - Match with a 2.5 month old baby BOY! 
07/28/09 - Matty is in our arms!
