Basically, the 2 days you're talking about are the time in which she has to 'wait' until she can legally sign her rights away.

So, she gives birth, then 48 hours later, it is legal for her to TPR - but that doesn't mean she has to do it at the 48 hour mark...just that she can't do it UNTIL the 48 hour mark.

What the law says about revocation seems to be (and its changed in the 12 years, since I placed) that the mother has 10 days to revoke, unless the documents state that the period to revoke is different (or maybe even irrevocable.

To ensure you're following the law, to a T - check out the Quad A website and find an adoption attorney who can help. This is not something you want to trust to an attorney who is unfamiliar with the laws...or unsure.
