OK, I actually find this very sad. They felt they had to mortgage their house and use their life savings and go into debt for IVF treatments (that I'm sure are even more physically difficult at 70 then they were for me at 35) all because they needed a "son and heir." Yes I know it's all culturally specific, but it's just so sad that boys in this scenerio are considered so much more important and girls are so under-valued.
