Hi Becky,
For the short time we used a lact-aid, I warmed the formula or breastmilk before putting it in the bag - but I don't see why you wouldn't be able to warm the whole thing in a bowl of hot water like you would a bottle. The only thing I would be concerned about is what type of plastic is being used in the Lactaid bags, and whether they contain BPA, which is released when heated. Maybe you could post your question on Ask Lenore if you don't get many responses here?
Congrats on your commitment to breastfeeding - it is pretty great, isn't it?
