For your child you will need a convertable carseat that will first install rear facing and later can be used forward facing. Many people now buy seats that have higher harnessing weight limits and strap heights. The seats I mention will do that. My girls have the Britax Marathon and Graco Nautilus (not convertable is forward facing only and will convert to a booster after 65lb). You can actually recline the Marathon slightly. In the picture it is in recline mode but we do not use it like that. Another seat is the Evenflow Triumph Deluxe. You can probably get close to an extra yr use out of the Evenflow Triumph Deluxe since its strap height is about an inch higher then the Marathon. Its inifinite harness adjuster is very nice too. (no rethreading straps ever!)Another nice seat is the Recaro Como or its more expensive counter part. If possible try and instal the carseat you want before you buy. I originally wanted other convertable seats, instead of the Marathons, for my DDs but that seat did not instal well in my vehicle while the Marathon does. Anna
