Tony, I so hear you! When you see billboards all over local busses about how badly parents are needed for these children, yet when you really feel it in your heart to try do become a "doer" instead of a "watcher", you feel punished for doing so. Adoption IS NOT EASY. We've adopted 4 times and it was never easy. What can go wrong, does go wrong. I just wanted to write to encourage you to stay committed to doing this. At your age, you have plenty of wisdom and life experience to offer an 11 year old. Show the agency your commitment and join a group of adoptive parents. It will help immensely to be going through this with others that are doing the same. And best wishes. Keep us posted!
