Thanks Noelle - yes it is the (out of state) agency that is doubling the price. I'm nervous about going through an attorney because the b-dad is not really part of the picture (so I want to make sure all loose ends are tied up and nervous that an attorney will miss something - I'm an attorney so you would think I would have more confidence in attorneys, but I don't!). Plus our homestudy agency (homestudy agency and us in one state, and adoption agency and b-mom in another) says he doesn't really recommend it and that our state doesn't really like it.
