Just a friendly reminder that in this particular case he was not a "kid" that was being told. He was an adult. And while people may have their individual reasons for telling or not at some point that adoptive "kid" becomes an adult and should be treated as such. As an adoptee I think Blue did the right thing -- no matter how hard it is to get through it. And as an adoptive mom I think Blue's husband's adoptive mom did the wrong thing. Adoptive parents need to build their relationships on honesty -- just like any other parent. You can't expect to lie to your child all of their life and not hurt them when the truth comes out.
