Adoptive breast feeding question

I know there's a board for this, but it doesn't seem to get much traffic so I thought I'd post here.

Anabel came home at 8 months and had never been breast fed as an infant (as far as I know) so I never really considered it. But as we prepare for number two, it's been on my mind more.

I've just just started looking into the "hows" of adoptive breastfeeding and am trying to figure out if it makes sense. How would I possibly know when to start? I mean once my homestudy is complete I'll have no idea when I'll be matched, or if I'll be matched with an e-mom who's 6 months pregnant or a baby already born.

Also, I was looking at "Ask Lenore" and the protocol seems to involve a lot of hormones. I'm sort of loathe to put MORE external hormones in my body after putting so much in me during fertility treatments. Is it possible to do this without the hormones, and if so how? And is there any potential medical risk connected with the hormones that are being advised?
