I got word through my attorney that the defense attorney is going to depose me. WHY? I don't want to be a party to this case. Isn't it between the bios and the state? Yes I am a relative foster parent and have a long history with my sister and I know lots of stuff...but it would all be damaging to the bios...not helpful. Why am I being called? Does my attorney attend with me? are they going to try to dig up crap on me and discredit me...is that the purpose of this thing?

can I refuse? what sorts of things will i be asked? Will bios be there to hear my answers or just the attorney and court reporter/stenographer?

Has anyone else been called to a desposition before?
