The day we were matched, our agency sent us our daughter's bmom's medical/family/social history. It is very relevant to your child's life and your decision on whether or not to move forward. This approach was standard to all of the agencies that we talked to in our research process. I'm sure they take HIPPA laws into consideration, however, I assume that the emom's must sign a disclosure/waiver of some sort.
Our match time was very short before birth (less than 24hours!). However, our agency explained to us that after they sent the packet of history info, that we likely would not hear anything back from them until emom went into labor. So, it can be quite normal, although nerve wracking, to just sit and wait. No news is good news, I think...
Congrats on your match!
