Fadzi:

When DD was teeny tiny we just washed her hair with a moisturizing shampoo (drug store brand, nothing special) and brushed it with a very soft brush we got from the hospital. Around four months or so all her baby hair fell out and her more grown-up hair came in (much curlier and much drier). BTW -- DD is full AA.

We then started used shea butter to condition her hair daily (got it in small jars from the health food store) -- as she got older and her hair got longer this stopped working well so we switched to Carol's Daughter products (first black vanilla (now not enough moisture) then jojoba oil (now good for daily spritz) and the hair milk (for after washing).

We also use Aveda Sap Moss shampoo and conditioner about once a week and it seems to be working.

So as you can see -- the process involves trial and error -- and something that works at one time may stop working as time goes on and their hair texture changes.

Good luck with your new little one!

Michelle
