Heart Back on the vent and back to the cath lab

Rough morning. I got a call at 3 am from Cameron's nurse saying that he was breathing really hard and his sats were dropping, so they were going to try some high flow 02. He ended up being reintubated later, around 0530. His right lung looks really bad, and he was just struggling and so uncomfortable. Now that he's back on the vent, he's more comfortable. This also means that he's back on his sedation . We had just gotten him to a point where he was pretty comfortable. But what do you do? For all you medical people, they had drawn a blood gas and his lactate DOUBLED within a very short time frame. This means, his heart was working very, very hard. He needed to breathe comfortably and his heart can't be working that hard, so he needed to be back on the vent.

Also, since Saturday night, he has been spitting up intermittently. He has a paralyzed left vocal cord and can't protect his airway. Earlier that day, he had gotten a new NJ-tube as his had clogged. It looks like it had moved and wasn't in the right place, even though it was done under fluoroscopy had checked it with an xray. That's gone and his feeds are shut off.

Because of all of this and that fact that he's still in the PICU almost a month post-op, his surgeon has scheduled him to go back to the cath lab tomorrow around noon. It'll be another long one, but I don't think his surgical team has to standby this time. We already met with the anesthesiologist who will be with him. (She actually was in his first surgery when he was 10 hours old and told me today, "good lord I was terrified". Left me a little speechless, but his heart did stop on the operating table that night). They are looking at 3 main things:
-aspiration
-his pulmonary arteries (already 25% closed since his last surgery) *This is operable*
-his pulmonary veins, *NOT operable*

I am PLEADING with God that if they find something, that it's operable. I don't want to hear the word transplant tomorrow.

If you pray, please pray for Cameron and for the dr's findings tomorrow. He needs this to be something easily repairable. I want him to have a break! Please pray for another miracle. If you don't pray, send some good thoughts our way. Know how much your comments and thoughts encourage us.

Please remember my little guy.

Here are some pics, from a few days old to just a few months old.
