My son is a Hague survivor as well. I didnt know about such forums. I found out about 2 months before he came home. We never even heard the word Hague until we went on a visit trip. Our foster mother actually told us what was going on. She was surprised we came and told us she did not think we would ever bring Giovanni home. Our agency fell apart in the Guatemala department and basically left us on our own for the last 4 months. We were lied to over and over again by our contact and the attorney. We did pick up without any agency help at all. It was a nightmare. It was a disaster. BUT, here we are over 4 years after Giovanni came home. I will never forget what it took to bring that little soul mate of mine home. I adore that little man. We took a chance again, lost that little one in July '06 after 4 months. We then faced a second closing and on GODS prayers we did it again. Antonio came home at 6 months. He is now 22 months.
It does end. There is that day that everything is done. Every bit of post adoption paperwork is finished. Then guess what? You wake up and continue living your life. You never forget where it started or how hard you fought. It just makes you more determined to make how it ends that much more amazing.
God Bless all the parents in process and there babies. God watch over all the babies in the world that hope for there forever families.
