I think Carol's Daughter is okay for the little ones as most of it is natural and organic. I use a daily spritz of water, olive oil and lavendar oil on my kiddo's hair and it keeps it really beautiful....the trick is getting a nice mist-like sprayer so that if covers all of the head. 1/4 oil to 3/4 water.
