Heart me, too...

I just got my first Mother's Day card from my firstborn this year, too. We were already in reunion last Mother's Day, but only via email so no card then. But it was a remarkable day, one I never expected to have, because that morning the email I received said, "I love you, Mom. Happy Mother's Day!" Remarkable because we were only about 5 weeks into reunion with email the only contact at that point, and this was the first time he had ever called me "Mom."

About two months ago my 28-year-old son--who now calls my husband (not his bfather) "Dad"-- has relocated to our town, gotten a job, and has moved in with my husband and me, renting the in-law apartment at the back of our house. A year ago when he first claimed me as his "Mom" I could never have imagined we would find our way to this place. It isn't perfect and there are challenges galore, and I have no idea what the future will hold, but we're building a history together now and all of it is a blessing.

This is the first Mother's Day when I had all four of my children with me at some point during the weekend. I just never knew there could be this much joy, this much love...
