I don't think the DTP vaccine is something to worry too much about. They've been combining the three (diptheria, tetanus, and pertussis) into one vaccine for at least 60 years. I was born in 1954, so I went thru most of the "childhood diseases" as many of the current vaccines were not available. The DTP was given, though, back in those years. Also, I think I was one of the first babies to receive the Polio vaccine in Los Angeles in 1954, with absolutely no problems.

I wouldn't skip the Pertussis vaccine. Whooping cough can be very dangerous for infants. My cousin chose not to vaccinate her daughter against it, and that decision almost cost her her daughter's life. I will never forget visiting that baby in the hospital...she was so, so sick.
