I thought this Mother's Day would be like my last two, no Happy Mothers Day from anyone because well face it I am not a "real mom" and then this happened.
I just got back from spending a couple hours with my former foster children. My former fs gave his Mom a hug and then came over to me and told me I was just as much a mom and thanked me for him for bringing him to see his Mom last mothers day when he really needed her. He gave me a big hug, told me how much he loved me and thanked me for caring for him. It can't possibly get any better than that. I have never felt so emotional on Mother's Day before in my life.
As foster parents we sometimes need reminders of why we do what we do. I am glad I had him this morning to remind me.
To all the mothers out there, especially for all of you that have the same feelings twords mothers day as I do and that don't get to hear happy mothers day because you are not a "real mom"
Happy Mother's Day
