Our baby was already born when we were matched. We purchased everything except furniture the weekend before we picked her up. Once home after ICPC, I ordered the crib, changing table and glider and they all came in less than a week. Before all that came in and was assembled, she slept either in the pack n play or a borrowed cradle or in bed with us. It was pretty hectic, but everything worked out well.
Also, we had 2 showers after we came home with her.
