Pictures of Kate's Party (Kate obviously missing!)
So, DH decided we needed to have a birthday cake and celebration for Kate turning 1 year old. So we stopped at Culver's on the way home from work to get a frozen custard cake. We put a candle in it and sang her "Happy Birthday" as well as making a wish! I thought I would be much more sad seeing she is STILL in Guatemala. Our attorney called our agency that day to tell us that our case is "simply awaiting signature." Not that it really means much at this point, but it was nice of her to let us know. She new it would be a "tough day" for us and thought that might help us make it through the day. We sent a cake, balloons, birthday outfit and small gift via Vilma (the basket lady). I guess our foster mom was VERY happy!
So, I'm sure when she is 10 years old and looks at these pictures she will think it is DORKY of her parents to be celebrating without her. It will be undeniable that we LOVE her so much!
