How do you know when it is the right one? We met the him yesterday and neither my husband or I walked away feeling like it was right. I am not sure what it is. We talked in lenth about it for quite awhile last night and we both feel the same way. We know he was exposed to drugs in utero but everyone is unsure about alcohol. Of course he is developementallly delayed, which isnt much of an issue. But when a child is delayed is it normal for them to be up to six months behind and being that far behind do they usually catch up?
We are not looking for a child who is in perfect physical or mental health but something in our gut just doesnt feel right. I feel really bad cuz I feel like we should've left there all happy and excited and we weren't. I feel awful that we didn't have that feeling. And what do we tell our worker if we arent interested. Do I just say we have a "gut" feeling or what. This was supposed to be soooo much fun and now we are confused about our feelings and I dont know why.
