One is "SEARCH REGISTRY." Enter your information on the registry, but before you do, run a search to see if the child has already registered.
I highly recommend that you also register with International Soundex Reunion Registry (ISRR). This is the oldest and the best registry in the world. Send a self-addressed, stamped #10 envelope, to ISRR, P.O. Box 2312, Carson City, Nevada 89702-3212 and they will send you their form to complete and mail back.
You can also check out our "SEARCH" page and the various other resources offered on our site. Don't limit yourself to one or two Registries. Post your information on as many as you can find.
Http://www.reunionregistry.org/regist.htm offers a list of on-line Reunion Registries on which you can post your information (i.e.: Gender, date of birth, city, State, hospital and any other information you have about the birth).
The advent of computers has had a terrific impact on the Reunion movement. Sometimes a Reunion is almost instantaneous, and other times it takes years.
You must be prepared, however, since not all of reunions are successful, or happy, for that matter, and the Recovery period can stretch into decades. I strongly advise that you and your sister read the articles articles posted at our "READING ROOM" and the "BOOK SHOP" pages (also on the HOME directory), as well as the postings on this and other Forums and the various stories about reunion and recovery that you'll find on our site. They will help you understand what you are getting into, and you can benefit greatly from the experiences and advice of others.
Good luck...Please keep in contact with me.
Hugs, Carol
