Thanks for the reply. I'm new on these boards as well. My wife and I live in the South Bay and have been investigating adoption and agencies for awhile now and have decided to move forward with domestic adoption.
We have attended program orientations for Adoption Connection, Independent Adoption Center, Lifetime, and Pact. We've also spent a considerable amount of time on the phone getting orientation type info from The Family Network, Catholic Charities, and American Adoptions. Based on what we've done so far we have a considerable amount of objective data but very little feedback from people that have actually used these organizations or who know of someone that did.
I've heard good things about Adoption Connection as well, and the people I've spoken with there seem very knowledgeable and competent, although I was not impressed with their program orientation. Conversely, I was very impressed with the program orientation at Independent Adoption Center but I've heard some concerning things about them. It's hard to sort it all out.
While I wasn't impressed with Adoption Connection's orientation (the presentation of info was a bit unorganized and scattered) I do think it's a good use of time and I also found the information they provided very useful.
