New to board and need all the help that we can get
Hi Everyone!!!
I am new to the board and would like to introduce myself to everyone. My name is Lizette and my husband is Alan. We live in upstate NY and after nine years of marriage it became apparent that we would not be having a child naturally. I have been thinking a long time about adoption and finally spoke to my husband. He said he was up to the challenge of the adoption process.
I called Catholic Charities today and they are sending me an information package. What I am looking for is what to expect. I have been surfing the net and have read a lot about adoption but it all seems soooooo scary. I have read some beautiful stories and some horror stories about birthmothers and international adoptions. We would definitely be open to an international adoption.
I would like to know some other experiences/insights on how you got started and the process of adoption. I would love to go to a seminar about adoption. Has anyone gone to one.
I appreciate any info.
