Speaking as a late...
discoverer of the facts of my adoption, I have to agree with Starry & Janet.
Get all of the evidence of his adoption that you can find and then sit down with him and discuss it. The "its not my place" crowd can go to blazes and take those who want to keep the secret with them.
Plain and simple, NO ONE has the right to keep this from him.
