I am sure it depends on what state and agency you are with.
On the first visit we had they did the interview and initial walk through. They just made a list of things that would need to be done to the house prior to the final walk through. They checked water temp., smoke detectors, gave suggestions on how to organize so that only a few doors would have to be locked.
It was actually really quick and easy, not at all what I expected. Here they just do the fire part as part of the overall check I guess as there was never anything said about it.
