I have a friend who is almost 16 years old. A year or so ago her mom told her she didnt want to take care of her anymore and sent her to live with her aunt and granted her aunt custody. Now her aunt is telling her they dont want her anymore either. Her aunt said her choices were going back to live with her mom or going to foster care. She doesnt want to go back with her mom after all that she already put her through. One of our friends parents told my friend that she could come live with them and that she would go through all the nessecary court procedures in order to keep my friend out of foster care and out of her moms custody. Since she is so old, can she decide where she wants to go? And what is the best way out of her situation. Shes been through so much being told shes not wanted anymore TWICE. If she lived with her mom, she would be unhappy and away from her friends. Her friends are what she really needs right now. Please help with some advice....
