You didn't say whether you are considering domestic or international adoption. There are many older children in this country that need permanent homes. You should contact local agencies that place waiting children. Internationally, many countries have broadened their age requirements. Contact the International Concerns for Children in Boulder, Colorado(303-494-8333). They put out a Report on Intercountry Adoption which lists all of the current programs and their requirements. Also, look at the website RainbowKids.com. I'm sure if you are determined you will find the child that is meant to be yours. Good luck!
