Ashlea ~ I started taking a Medical Transcription course at home through At-Home Professionals. I haven't completed it . . . in fact, I only completed the first course . . . I had to discontinue it because I was trying to take care of a toddler and became too difficult to study. That's not to say that you wouldn't be able to though. Their courses are very well written and organized. Their instructors evaluate your assignments and answer any questions you might have throughout the course. They are VERY helpful. Each course costs approx. $450.00 (I had five $100.00 coupons making it only $350.00 per course, which helped). I've heard of many people starting their own business with Medical Transcription and even employing others to handle the workload. The reason that Medical Transcription is in such high demand is because every time you visit the doctor ~ your doctor is required by law to have everything that was said or done at that visit in type-written form on record.
