Other jobs could include you being a consultant with plenty of flexibility in scheduling, and the possible ability of bringing your child with you - Amway, Avon, Tupperware, Mary Kay cosmetics, Usborne books, etc. There are tons of companies like that. If you're a good saleswoman, a single afternoon party for a few hours with a good order can net you as much as 3-4 days of a regular job salary.

Or consider opening your own childcare - take some additional "regular" child development classes in addition to the special ones required by the state for foster adoption. Lots of people look for small personal inhome daycares like that. But that is opening your own business, so be sure you're OK with handling accounting books and the like.

Some telemarketing companies allow experienced workers to work from home. They dial in to the company's network and then place their calls. (Dial-a-psychic "psychics" operate this way, too, but I don't know if that counts as legitimate!)
