Barbara, I'm sorry to post my reply so late, but I just returned from vacation.
I agree that the choice between an agency and attorney for domestic adoptions is sometimes a matter of personal preference. In addition to the obvious differences in "skill sets," there are also significant differences in the timelines and processes.
I'm very glad you're looking into getting some information and support before you launch your adoption process! As a pre-adoption educator, I find all that too often, people who are eager to adopt rush into decisions before they have all the information they need to make good ones.
Have you had a chance yet to look into joining a support group? And have you checked out the two agencies you mentioned?
