I think this is yet another area where laws and morality have not been able to keep up with science.
I'm not sure what I think about a woman that makes a living as a surrogate. There are many wonderful couples that would (and do) benefit from surrogate assistance. Who is minding the moral and legal store though? When a child is born (via a surrogate) what goes on his/her original birth certificate? How would that differ if a sperm donor was used?
What do well tell these children when they grow up?
That's sort of a reverse adoption, "yes, you came from mommy's tummy but we're not related genetically". Glad I don't have to explain that one.
