Talking adopting 2 angels

Wehave been approved by the state of oklahoma for a dhs kinship foster / adoption. We are adopting our nieces . They are 2 sweet angels that came to live in our home almost 4 yrs ago when they were 3 and 4 . After 2 long years since the dhs said they planned to place them for adoption we are finally going to sign the papers to petition the court to let us adopt our angels. They have special needs that we have been meeting since day one. I can not believe it will soon be over and they will get some closure in this case for the girls sake . They were moved around so much before we got them and it took them awhile to learn and believe that we really did and do love them . Our attorney said after she files the petition tomorrow we will get a court date in about 30 to 45 days and that it depends on the court docket how quickly we get this finalized. I just want to tell everyone to have a little patients and most of the case workers are doing as much as they can , but it is all up to the courts to make the final decisions. I just wish DHS would tell us more and not just leave us out in limbo so much . They gave us one week to get all the family physicals and such done and mailed in and then did not tell us that we had to secure an attorney and such . Even though DHs pays for it all they should tell us the steps we need to take in advance so that we can get started on these things sooner. We had 3 days to secure an attorney and were happy for the adoption specialist referrals to do so , but were not aware that an attorney was needed .
So I guess what I am trying to say is ask alot of questions about the steps you will be needing to take and when to do so and that way you arent left in the dark as we were until that last moment.
