I am a single parent of an adopted daughter from India. Usually the process takes 9-12 months. I had a lot of difficulties and it took me 18 months from start to finish. I will tell you one thing, adoption is a long and sometimes painful process, but it is worth it in the end. I have been blessed with a beautiful baby girl and she will be with me one year tomorrow 08/07. Good luck to you
