Question older child/preteen adoption Guatemala

Hi everyone....

My husband and I are looking into adopting a second child. Our first was a domestic placement.

While watching adoption stories, I saw a couple that adopted a 12 year old girl. In the story they say that most older children are not adopted. The older children were crying that they were not selected. We are considering adopting an older child like this. We would like to give them a fresh start and whole new life.

Can anyone tell me if the fee's are as high as adopting an infant? Also, we learned that they speak Spanish there. Has anyone adopted an older child and had to take language courses? This is something we are considering. Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks!
