WOW - we need to talk.

Your story is very familier to me. You sound just like myself and my husband. Have you finally had children placed with you? We still haven't and have been through a lot of suffering trying. Domestic adoption of special needs children and minority children is very poorly run. You see, it is more advantageous for the state and local agencies to keep these children in foster care - they get more money for that than for adoption. But at age 18 or when these kids get out of highschool, they are literally out on the streets. One in four foster children who are not permanently placed end up homeless, on drugs and involved in prostitution.

It is a tragedy that in this wonderful, affluent country, we treat our children horribly. Our PETS have more rights than children. And that is not all of it. Doesn't anyone question WHY we do not have equal education for all our children, rich or poor?
