It depends on you
How long you wait to adopt a child has quite a bit to do with any parameters you and your husband set on what kind of child you're wanting. If you're race or gender-specific, your wait will be longer. If you will consider a drug-exposed baby of any race and either gender, chances are your wait will be quite short (weeks or a few months). Of course this applies to domestic adoptions. We've been waiting 9 months so far. We want a daughter so we know we'll be on the longer end of the spectrum.
