Recently, the birth Mom, our daughter and I went to a lawyer and were told that it would cost $2,000 plus costs !!! to adopt Lily. We'll have to have the state come in AGAIN to check our home and go through all of the paperwork, etc. again. I just can't believe it's fair to make us pay for something that everyone wants and everyone knows is the right thing. The $3,000 or so could be better spent on Lily's education and extra curriculum activities. If you know of a better way to handle this, pls reply or call (562) 427-2838. Thanks - and call me anxious !!
P.S. I've called several attorneys and each has told me essentially the same thing. PLEASE HELP !
Thanks much,
Shelley
