Smile In the midst of a Hungarian Adoption

We are currently in the middle of a Hungarian adoption. We have been waiting for about a year now. We are not using an agency, but a Hungarian facilitator who actually lives in Hawaii. He came highly recommended by two other couples that adopted through him during the last few years. He has some 14 years of experience and has appropriate connections with orphanage directors.

What we came to learn is that agencies don't really want to deal with Hungary because it's difficult and they can't make money there because there is no volume for them, unlike China or South America where they are giving the kids away.

I am Hungarian and it is important for me to give back to kids from my country that is why we are pursuing Hungary, not for the ease of the process.

The buracracy in Hungary is mind bogeling but not impossible to get past. Patience is the key. If you are interested in getting any more information please let me know. We are waiting for two kids, one of which has already been identified and another in the works. We expect to go to Hungary within the next month or so.
